Kids Rules for Online Safety

As you know, there are a lot of online predators that will abuse the internet system in order to find someone who will give up information and then someone who they can abduct. You don’t want to find your child as a statistic and you will want to lay down some rules. The rules are very important because they need to be enforced, or your children could be at risk for injury.

First you will want to tell your children that they are not allowed to give out any personal information that would lead someone to where they are. This includes address, phone number, and information about the parents, and the name or location of their school. You will also want to tell them that giving their full name could end up hurting their privacy.

Secondly, you will want to tell your children that they should tell you about anyone that talks to them that makes them feel uncomfortable. Also, you will want to tell them to come to you when they come across information that makes them uncomfortable.

Also, you will want to talk about them on what they should do when they meet others online. You will want to make sure that they meet their new friends with you and that you make sure that they are safe in the meeting place. You do not want to give your children the impression that that it is okay for them to meet other people without your permission.

You will also want to talk to them about the picture exchange too. You don’t want to give out anything personal. You will also want to talk to them about how to talk to others online. You do not want them to explore the bad parts of the internet.

You will also want to mention about the rules on how they can use the net. You will want to make a plan on how long they can go on and what they can do with their time online.

Also, make sure that you talk to your kids about the passwords to things like their email and such. It is very important that you take the time to explain to them that there are some times that need to stay private. Tell them that they need to consult you before they down load things, again, for the family’s privacy.

It will also be a good to explain that they shouldn’t abuse the system and do anything that would hurt someone and that you help them to understand that the net is a privilege and not something that they need to have. You will want to make sure that you take the time to explain to the kids the importance of safety. There are lot of predators that could get their information and use it to hurt them.
